WHere is a home-style version of a cocktail found on a new cocktail list. This is a party-sized premix which is bursting full of flavours of the holiday season, rendering it ideal for your celebration. Any leftover syrup for brunch beverages, sweets, or to mix another batch of bikinis.
Bikini Recipe
Makes enough for 10 servings
Ingredients for the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g fine sugar
To make the Premix (makes 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Instructions
For the Citrus Syrup: Place all the components inside a pot, bring to a simmer, stirring so the sugar melts. After that, take off the burner and leave to cool fully. Pour into a clean bottle, close it and refrigerate it chilled, it can be stored for around a month.
For the Premix: Combine all the liquids in a large bottle, let it rest for one hour, then strain best through cheesecloth, so it's fully clarified.
To serve: Pour 85ml of your cocktail base to a stirring glass packed with ice, gently stirring lightly for one minute to cool it down. Strain into a cold coupe glass or a similar vessel, top with a few cranberries and finish using a quick spritz with the mandarin essence above the glass.
